More than 100 women came to MiraCosta College on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, as Soroptimist International of Oceanside-Carlsbad presented Project CEO: Clothing Empowers Opportunities.

SIO-C members gathered gently used and still-in-fashion work clothes, such as suits, slacks, skirts, dresses, shoes and accessories, to be distributed to the women, so that when they go for interviews and start their new jobs, they will look and feel professional.

Several members with expertise in specific areas also conducted workshops, such as Goal Setting, Building Self-Esteem, Planning a Budget, How to Prepare for that Important Interview, Finding the Right Look for Work and Women’s Health Information and Resources.

SIO-C member and Mary Kay consultant Tam Hackman (in pink, seated), and Mary Kay director Susan Whiting conduct a workshop on finding the right look in wardrobe and cosmetics for work.
